Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1760.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a compound molded flat pediment with a molded sarcophagus top, three brass ball finials with cast eagles, a molded arch above the door, gilt ornament in the tympanum, turned columns at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding and gilt ornament at the top and a case door with a molded edge, an gilt fan, gilt corners, and a central gilt cartouche. Base with cove molding at the top, gilt ornament in the corners and gilt along the sides, a pendant drop, and supported on straight bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and a name boss engraved "Daniel Balch Newbury." Inside the chapter ring there is a calendar aperture. Eight day movement.
